Welcome to Learn Microsoft BI!

Hello and welcome to Learn Microsoft BI. The goal here is simple: to provide free videos and forums about the Microsoft BI stack. This includes SQL Server Integration Services, SQL Server Analysis Services, SQL Server Reporting Services, PerformancePoint Server, ProClarity, SharePoint, and Excel.

New Video: MDX: Basics and Structure

I'm pleased to announce that not only have I finally had time to create a new video, but it is the first to cover MDX. There will actually be several introductory MDX videos due to its scope and complexity. This video discusses what MDX is, why it's necessary, and then covers some of the high-level concepts. You'll learn about tuples and sets, and then see several simple queries in action. The video runs 27.5 minutes.

Great intro video. When are you coming up with the next one. In the meanwhile can you refer me to any tutorials or good learning sites for MDX queries and partitions and KPI

The next one will probably get done this weekend but no promises. Te better learn MDX check out the two books "Fast Track to MDX" and "MDX Solutions". As for partitions check out "Applied Microsoft Analysis Services 2005" and "Applied Microsoft Analysis Services 2005."
