We have SQL Server 2005 licensed for all of our users and have an SSAS 2005 cube.  Can I develop reports in BIDS with SSRS 2008 and use our SSAS 2005 cube?  I prefer to use the 2008 BIDS to develop reports and would like to use the new to 2008 charting features, if possible.

Would I have to upgrade to SQL Server 2008 in order to deploy reports createded in BIDS 2008 that use our 2005 SSAS cube?  If I can use BIDS 2008 here, can anyone explain how to deploy those reports to the 2005 SSRS?

I have SQL server 2008 installed on my laptop and created SSRS reports using 2008 BIDS.  I cannot deploy those reports to our SSRS 2005 server. (Error "The report definition has an invalid target namespace"...)

1. How to implement the report model security(With out using the Report manager security) in SSRS.

2. How many ways we can implemet  the report security.

3. Is it reportserverTempDb table is required for the production server also. If not then  why?

4. What is the limitations of the dataset for the chart report.

I want to  deploy the 50 SSRS reports at a time what is the best option for it. I know the the only three option for deployment but it is not suitble for my requirement .

1. Visual studio deployment wizard(Not preferable)

2. Report manager(we can deploy one report at a time)

3. Report server(we can deploy one report at a time).

Any other best deployemnt options for deployment of many ssrs reports at a time.
