Craig Utley is the founder of LearnMicrosoftBI.com and a former SQL Server MVP. He is a mentor with Solid Quality Mentors and a former Program Manager on the SQL Server Customer Advisory Team (SQLCAT) at Microsoft, where he focused on business intelligence at some of Microsoft's largest BI customers worldwide.
Craig has been involved with Microsoft BI projects since the days of the betas of SQL Server 7, when Microsoft first introduced a cube building engine called OLAP Services. Craig was one of the authors of Microsoft's first data warehousing course and started speaking at conferences about data warehousing. Through his speaking efforts he became familiar with the ProClarity products. After writing the ProClarity courseware for ProClarity version 3, he spent a couple of years representing ProClarity as a pre-sales engineer in the central region of the United States. In 2005 Craig became associated with Solid Quality Mentors (then Solid Quality Learning) as a BI mentor. He has been with Solid Quality Mentors since except for a thirteen month stint with SQLCAT.
Through Craig's efforts as an independent consultant and his time with Solid Quality Mentors, ProClarity, and Microsoft, he has seen BI projects at over forty companies worldwide and has learned what works when designing, building, and implementing a BI solution.
Craig speaks at conferences and user groups and is a published author of articles, books, and courseware. His latest book, Business Intelligence with Microsoft® Office PerformancePoint Server 2007, was published in 2008.
